QUESTIONS FAMILIES ASK
Your questions, answered.
-
Many families sense they need support long before they can picture what it looks like. We’ll listen and help you find what fits: a full-time nanny, a part-time sitter, a mother’s helper, or something in between.
-
Maison connects families with vetted nannies, sitters, and mother’s helpers for ongoing, occasional, and short-term care — the shape that fits your family, your schedule, your season of life.
-
It begins with a conversation: your family, your rhythm, what you’re hoping to find. From there, we source and screen candidates, present two to three carefully chosen profiles, coordinate meet-and-greets and trials, and stay with you through placement and beyond.
Most nanny placements are completed within two to four weeks, though timing varies with availability and role.
Need care sooner? Let us know: depending on availability, we may be able to move faster, or a sitter or mother’s helper may be able to assist in the meantime.
-
Maison’s fees vary based on the category of care.
Nanny placements carry a one-time placement fee, with a non-refundable initiation fee collected to begin the search and credited in full toward it once you accept a placement.
For sitter care, there’s a one-time $250 introduction fee per sitter, plus an optional Maison Membership for families with frequent or ongoing needs. Once you’ve been introduced, there are no additional booking fees when you schedule directly with your caregiver.
Caregiver compensation is separate, paid directly to the caregiver.
-
Your fee covers the work behind the match: sourcing, interviews, screening, reference checks, coordination, and placement support.
For nanny placements, we also guide you through compensation, work agreements, and the transition ahead.
It doesn’t include caregiver wages or other employment-related expenses.
-
Yes. While pay is ultimately agreed upon between family and caregiver, we provide current market guidance based on role, experience, responsibilities, and schedule, and help you think through the broader package so expectations are clear from the start.
We can also guide you through drafting a written work agreement and understanding the household employment process, connecting you with a qualified specialist for payroll or tax support when needed.
The family pays the caregiver directly; Maison’s fee is separate.
-
We help facilitate a smooth transition, including clear terms and a written work agreement, then stay close with thoughtful check-ins through the early months.
Our support doesn’t end when the match is made.
-
Even the most thoughtful match can reveal itself as wrong once real life begins. If something isn’t working, reach out early. We’ll help assess the situation, facilitate communication where appropriate, and, when covered by your placement terms, reopen the search.

Just beyond our service area? Reach out anyway: our network is ever-expanding, and we’re always happy to explore what’s possible.
-
Maison is designed to source, vet, and match families with caregivers through our network. If you already have someone in mind, tell us your situation, and we’ll discuss whether our placement or support services still fit.
-
Yes. We treat everything shared throughout your inquiry, intake, interviews, and matching process with care and discretion. Information is shared with prospective caregivers only as needed for a potential match. If you have particular privacy considerations, let us know during your first conversation.
